The Auxiliary to the Paso Del Norte Children's Development Center, Christmas Street, was organized January 16, 1969 by Rita Taylor, assisted by Alice Scherotter.

Christmas Street is the center's fund raising partner, formed by the same group of citizens that started the Paso Del Norte Children's Development Center Inc. in 1973, the first Christmas Street fund raiser was held at the El Paso Country Club December that year. Christmas Street has raised more than $2 million to date.

Christmas Street Mission Statement

The mission of this organization shall be to promote and advance the welfare of the Paso Del Norte Children's Development Center through ways approved by the governing Board of the Center. This purpose shall be accomplished by interpretation of the Center to the public, through service to the Center and its patients, and through fund raising in a manner satisfactory to the Center Board of Directors and in harmony with the planning of the community.
