Applied Behavior Analysis

ABA Program

The Applied Behavior Analysis Program helps children with autism and other developmental delays reach their full potential.

Our Mission

The mission of Paso del Norte’s ABA Program is to provide high quality ABA services to the children and adolescents affected by autism in the El Paso community.

What is ABA

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a widely recognized Evidence-Based Treatment approach for autism. ABA therapy systematically applies interventions that use the principles of learning and motivation to bring about positive behavior change. ABA provides highly individualized programming to address the child’s needs.

ABA therapy focuses on increasing age-appropriate, adaptive behaviors in children with autism and other developmental delays.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for enrollment in our ABA Program, your child must be between the ages of 3 and 15, have a diagnosis of autism by a medical professional and be a Texas resident. Additionally, each family will be assessed individually to identify the appropriate cost of share for services.

ABA Services

  • Behavior assesment
  • Language assessments
  • Preference assessments
  • Treatment planning
  • Parent and family training
  • Adaptive skill programming
  • Behavior reduction interventions
  • Social skills training
  • Peer-model programs
  • Self-management training
  • School and IEP consultation

Target areas that are commonly addressed through our services include communication, social skills, challenging behavior, academics, and adaptive living skills

Parents, caregivers, and family members are imperative in the child’s ABA treatment, as they play a critical role in the maintenance and generalization of adaptive skills. Our clinicians will provide extensive parent training and set opportunities for practice. Parents will be trained on basic principles of behavior (i.e. motivation, reinforcement, prompting, generalization) and how to utilize each strategy properly with their child.

Evidence-Based Treatment

Our ABA clinical team is committed to using scientifically validated teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of your child. Some of these strategies include:

  • Discrete trial training
  • Pivotal response training
  • Behavior Skill training
  • Verbal behavior approach
  • Video Modeling
