Christmas Street 75th Anniversary

OVERVIEW –

Christmas Street,Auxiliary to the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1973 to assist the PdNCDC through its fundraising efforts. A few years later, the Auxiliary created the Christmas Street event as a way of raising public awareness for the Center and as a unique way to raise funds.  We are very excited about what this year will bring!  All proceeds from the events go to support the programs of the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center.  Since 1973, Christmas Street has given over $2M of support to the programs of the PdNCDC!

Demographic Profile

Our target population is children with special healthcare needs in El Paso and Hudspeth counties, regardless of ability to pay.   The majority of the children we serve reflect the general demographic make up of the broader community.  Most are Hispanic and live in low to moderate income households.

Mission

The mission of Christmas Street is to promote and advance the general charitable objectives of the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center.  PdNCDC, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1948, is dedicated to helping children with special needs, their families, and the community with therapeutic, educational, child care, and support services. Services provided by the Center include physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, early childhood education, parent training and counseling, and Applied Behavior Analysis for children with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. Additionally, the Center provides learning services for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, after-school care for children 6 to 12 years, and a summer camp program through Inclusive Early Learning Center (IELC). Through the Community Resource Center, the PdNCDC conducts seminars and outreach training to educate parents and caregivers of children with special needs as well as the community.
