Board Member Needed
The Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center (PdNCDC) is excited to announce that we are looking for new members for the Board of Directors.
The PdNCDC’s mission is to provide children with special needs, and their families, with the tools necessary to help children and their families reach their fullest potential. The PDNCDC fulfills its mission by providing therapeutic, educational, child care, and support services to children, and their families, in our community. The agency will soon embark on the development of a strategic plan to provide guidance and direction for the future of our agency. This plan will lay the foundation for the implementation of new programs and growing facilities in order to meet the needs of the community.
We would like you to join us in our new adventure! Any person interested in board membership is asked to complete and submit the board member application, along with your resume, to Mr. Alfonso Velarde, Executive Director of the PdNCDC. The application and resume may be mailed to Mr. Velarde at the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center, 1101 E. Schuster, El Paso, Texas 79902, or emailed to email@example.com. Upon receipt of your application and resume, the Board of Directors’ Nominations Committee will evaluate each applicant for board service. Directors will be selected based on the skills and experience possessed by the applicant in accordance with the needs of the organization. Applications will be accepted through March 31st, 2019, and appointments are expected to be approved at the May 2019 board meeting.
The requirements for board service include: meeting the attendance policy as set forth in the agency by-laws; commitment to support the agency financially through the $1,000 give/get procedure; participation in governance of the agency; becoming an advocate of the services provided by the PdNCDC and the impact we have in our community.

The mission of the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center is to help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential by providing comprehensive therapeutic, education, and childcare services. Toward that end, we served 5,998 clients in 2014. The Center is organized into three service departments, each providing a different type of service: Early Childhood Intervention, El Papalote Inclusive Child Development Center, and the Community Resource Center. Management of all Center operations is the responsibility of the director and a small team of managers that handle office management, supplies, maintenance, and housekeeping, fiscal, and human resource functions.
