ECI Department hires Community Outreach Specialist

PdN Children’s is proud to announce the promotion of Christian Lopez to the Community Outreach and QA Specialist for the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program effective Thursday, 1 October 2020.

He will lead the targeted outreach and community education of ECI to the El Paso Community.

Early Childhood Intervention or ECI is a statewide program for families with children, birth to three, with developmental delays or disabilities. ECI is state and federally funded through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, P.L. 108-446). Families and professionals work as a team to plan appropriate services based on the unique needs of the child and family.

Formerly, Mr. Lopez was the Partnership & Outreach Specialist for the El Paso HOPES program and assisted both PdN Children’s and the El Paso Center for Children with their outreach engagement efforts. Target,

Mr. Lopez is currently active in the community and serves as the Executive Vice President for the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), as well as the Vice President of Membership for The Presidents’ Club of Toastmasters International. He is a member of the United Way Young Leaders Society (YLS), and recently completed the REALIZE Board training YLS cohort.

He received his Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and is currently working on his Master’s of Public Administration at UTEP. He is a graduate of Coronado High School.

He has a 5-year-old daughter and loves to get outdoors, especially playing soccer and hiking with his family and friends.
