Meet PdN Children’s new board member, Valerie Auger

Valerie R. Auger is a partner at Kemp Smith in the firm’s Trial Department. Her practice focuses on healthcare liability, wrongful death, personal injury claims, premises liability, insurance defense, and general civil litigation. She handles legal matters from the claims-stage through trial and appeal.

Ms. Auger has represented commercial and industrial clients, including individuals and sole proprietors and various corporate entities. She has defended local and national clients from various business sectors, including the transportation industry – commercial motor carriers, railroads, and automobile manufacturers – the oil and gas industry, and the hospitality industry, among others.

Before rejoining Kemp Smith, Ms. Auger was a shareholder at a local law firm specializing mainly in transportation law. She also served with the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas, as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Frank Montalvo.

She received her B.A. from Marquette University, her M.A. from the College of William & Mary, and her J.D. from Tulane University Law School. She is a remember of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, DRI, Federal Bar Association, State Bar of New Mexico, and the State Bar of Texas.
